MENG Civil Engineering with Industrial Experience is a Masters program taught at University of Manchester, UK. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (5 years) options.
The University of Manchester’s MEng Civil Engineering with Industrial Experience is a Master of Engineering (MEng) course in Civil Engineering. It covers civil engineering design, construction, and maintenance, including structures, geotechnics, hydraulics, project management, construction materials, surveying, structural analysis, engineering design, and mathematics. During the first two years, the course is broad-based, and later years include options such as renewable energy systems, fire engineering, earthquake engineering, and computational hydraulics.
The degree design includes a year working in the civil engineering profession after your second or third year, plus learning through practical laboratory sessions and computer-based sessions. There is a design project each year, an individual research project in the third year, and a final-year industry-supervised group design project. Students also use facilities including wave flumes, geotechnics centrifuge, materials testing, and 3D laser scanners for surveying. The course is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators and aims to satisfy the educational base for Chartered Engineer Status.
