Introduction
Marine biology is a program taught at University of St. Andrews, UK. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Marine biology at the University of St Andrews focuses on the diversity of life from the deep sea to estuaries. Students study evolutionary and behavioural biology, plus conservation and management of marine environments, including how to protect marine ecosystems.
St Andrews offers opportunities for both lab-based and field-based study. Fieldwork and diving expeditions to locations such as the Antarctic and Indonesia are options for many programmes, and students can study marine wildlife in its natural habitat near the North Sea.
The course is available as an undergraduate option (Marine Biology BSc (Hons)) and also as Marine Biology MMarBiol (Hons). It is taught within the School of Biology, and students learn from subject experts with purpose-built facilities.
