Introduction

Associate in Arts is a Diploma program taught at Ashland Community and Technical College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (Two years (four semesters), completing 60-61 hours.) options.

The Associate in Arts (AA) at Ashland Community and Technical College is designed for transfer to baccalaureate programs at universities. It includes substantial general education components and is intended to support continued studies such as Elementary Education, Psychology, and Social Work.

The AA follows a structure based on baccalaureate transfer frameworks. A 60 credit-hour framework is described as guiding students through the courses needed to reach the junior year in a specific major within a four-year baccalaureate program. Students complete the first two years without committing to a particular four-year university, and credits taken in compliance with a framework are described as transferring toward their program.

Program length is two years (four semesters) with completion of 60–61 hours. Remedial course work in reading, writing, or math may require additional time. Developmental work, taking less than 15 hours per semester may extend the program, while summer courses, dual credit courses while in high school, or taking more than 15 hours per semester may shorten program time.
