Bachelor's in Civil & Environmental Engineering
Introduction
Civil & Environmental Engineering is a Bachelor program taught at Carnegie Mellon University, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
On the Civil & Environmental Engineering undergraduate programs, students apply science, technology, social science, and communication skills to develop sustainable solutions. Civil engineering covers planning, design, and maintenance of infrastructure such as buildings, airports, tunnels, bridges, and water supply and waste management systems. Environmental engineering focuses on protecting public health and the environment by improving water, energy, and food systems and by creating efficient, healthy, and resilient cities.
Civil engineering includes a project course in each stage of the undergraduate curriculum, forming a design thread that links hands-on engineering work with core courses and supports work on actual projects. Students also address inclusivity and equity in design and within and between teams. Environmental engineering integrates computing and data analytics with hands-on labs and project courses and includes a project course sequence built around design-build-test projects.
