Introduction

History is a Bachelor program taught at Carnegie Mellon University, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The History program at Carnegie Mellon University helps students examine the past to understand current events with deeper context. Students develop skills in research, theoretical concepts, and analytical writing while exploring how events shape today’s world. The History major emphasizes analysis of change over time and in-depth understanding of the societies, cultures, economies, political systems, and conflicts that shaped the world.

History majors are strongly encouraged to pursue their own curriculum and explore seven distinct regions across antiquity and modernity. Seminar-style classes let students work closely with faculty mentors, with support to connect past and present conversations. After completing the program, graduates go into careers that include business, law, government, education, journalism, social work, urban planning, media, museums and libraries, the armed forces, and the ministry.
