Introduction

Nursing A.A.S. is a program taught at Cayuga County Community College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

Nursing A.A.S. at Cayuga County Community College prepares students for entry into the profession of nursing. The curriculum balances general education and nursing courses, with theoretical knowledge and clinical practice to provide nursing care for individuals throughout their lives. Learning experiences happen in the classroom, nursing laboratory, and various clinical settings. Graduates receive the Associate in Applied Science in nursing and are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

For the Fast-Track Nursing A.A.S., students should plan to devote 20–25 hours per week for classroom instruction, lab practice, and clinical experiences, with additional time needed for studying, assignments, and exam preparation. Courses run on Tuesday and Thursday with day and evening options, and clinicals occur every other weekend (day) in the first two semesters. Later semesters include classes and clinical scheduling that vary by Auburn or Fulton campus.

Nursing education is available at both the Auburn and Fulton campuses, with the Fall programs admitting students every Fall. The spring intake cohort for Fast-Track Nursing A.A.S. is accepting applications for the Auburn Campus only. Admission to the nursing program is a two-step process that includes a nursing supplemental application with an essay and two professional references, and an interview may be required. Clinical experiences begin in the first semester, with a background check required for clinicals.
