Art Studio
Introduction
Art Studio is a Bachelor program taught at Christian Brothers University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Art Studio (Specialization) at SIUE is a studio art program where students explore coursework in Ceramics, Drawing, Graphic Design, Metalsmithing, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Textiles. Emphasis is placed on building a conceptual and visual vocabulary and on discussing work in historical and contemporary contexts. Students build from a core foundation of skills to produce works with diverse objectives.
Learning is hands-on, with access to a university museum collection of cultural objects and on-campus exhibition spaces. Students can have work displayed in the Art and Design West Gallery and may also be represented in exhibitions at the student gallery at the Edwardsville Art Center. The program includes opportunities such as the Sculpture on Campus event, and it features Exhibition and Visiting Artist Programs.
Graduates specializing in art studio are prepared for careers that include museums, art galleries, cultural institutions, and academia. The program also supports graduate study, with recent graduates pursuing advanced degrees at several named universities and art schools.
