Community, Youth, and Education Studies, B.A.
Introduction
Community, Youth, and Education Studies, B.A. is a Bachelor program taught at Clark University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Community, Youth, and Education Studies (CYES) B.A. prepares you with a background in youth, urban studies, and education. You examine how school and community programs can address inequities by engaging young people and their families, using educational spaces and youth programs to support social change. You also examine your own identity and place in the world.
The major includes three gateways: entrance to the program, advancing to candidacy, and a praxis (reflection and action) project and portfolio defense. You complete a digital portfolio over the course of your major, and you develop work through community action and community-based action research with faculty. Examples include participation in an afterschool arts and poetry program or volunteering with English language learners in Worcester.
