Computer Science, B.A.
Introduction
Computer Science, B.A. is a Bachelor program taught at Clark University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Clark University’s Computer Science, B.A. is a computer science major that leads to a bachelor of arts degree. You study theory and practical applications, and you learn how computer science can improve humanity. The program focuses on problem-solving using computational and analytical thinking, including breaking problems into smaller parts and creating efficient solutions.
Coursework is designed to follow Association for Computing Machinery/IEEE program guidelines. You work on problems of increasing difficulty, some on your own and others in teams. Students can use computer labs with Linux and Windows, and many mathematics and computer science majors work in the department’s research laboratory on projects in mathematical and computational biology.
The major prepares students for roles such as software engineers, systems and IT staff, and research scientists. Alumni careers also include program management, and some alumni hold positions at Amazon and Google. The program also includes an option for an advanced degree path through a 4+1 Accelerated Master’s with one year of additional study.
