Theatre

Theatre is a Bachelor program taught at Coker College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Theatre at Coker College is an on-campus Bachelor’s Degree that combines a liberal arts education with theatre-focused study. Students develop skills through classes such as Acting I, Introduction to Design for the Performing Arts, and Playwriting, covering acting techniques, scenic/costume/lighting design, and writing for the stage. Students can also choose a Writing emphasis in Theatre, a performance concentration, a technical theatre concentration, or a musical theatre major.

Learning is built around hands-on work and theatre production activities, including productions, workshops, internships, and study abroad opportunities. Acting I includes work on body movement and vocal inflection, and it may lead to advanced acting classes and campus performances. The performance concentration requires students to audition for all theatre program productions, with no requirement to accept roles in every production. Musical theatre includes courses in voice, acting, and dance plus performance opportunities.
