Master Plan Introduction
Introduction
Master Plan Introduction is a Masters program taught at College of the Desert, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Technology Master Plan - Introduction at College of the Desert explains why the district created a formal plan for technology. It describes how bond funding supported new classrooms, computer labs, and science labs, and enabled the implementation of technology equipment and infrastructure. It also explains that one-time funding led to a need for a comprehensive plan to maintain and protect the technology investment.
The plan is described as an institutional approach that defines an integrated process to sustain and advance the application and usage of technology, and to protect the technology investment. It covers a five (5) year period, is reviewed annually by the Information Systems and Technology Committee, and is updated as needed. It also provides a framework for managing technology assets as hardware and software change, network demands increase, and pedagogical needs are identified.
