Elementary Education/Teaching (K-6)
Introduction
Elementary Education/Teaching (K-6) is a program taught at Concordia College - St. Paul, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Elementary Education/Teaching (K-6) program prepares students to become K-6 educators through advanced teaching methods and key education subjects, including educational psychology, teaching methodology, classroom management, and language development. Students also learn how to help students develop healthy learning habits and manage classroom environments, with a focus on teaching in some of the most formative years.
Instruction is provided on campus, and the program requires 55 credits. A final step includes student teaching, which provides direct classroom teaching experience to build the understanding, skills, and dispositions needed for success. After student teaching, students complete licensure requirements and can move into roles as K-6 educators.
This program prepares students for licensure or endorsement in the state of Minnesota only. It is fully accredited by the National Council of Accreditation for Teacher Education and PELSB. The program also offers optional endorsements for specific areas, depending on prior completion of an elementary education teaching degree.
