Introduction

Economics is a program taught at Covenant College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Economics major at Covenant College equips students to understand economic systems and how they work within economic theory and its history. Students study how institutions and policy influence the way an economy functions, and they develop skills for analysis and communication through rigorous research and data analysis. Economics connects economic principles and frameworks to questions and challenges, including how economic systems shape lives.

Learning includes theoretical and empirical analysis of human behavior and policies in business, non-profits, communities, government, healthcare, finance, and international trade. Students can also pursue a poverty and development major that focuses exclusively on alleviating poverty. Economics or poverty and development majors may apply for domestic and international research internships through The Chalmers Center for Economic Development, which runs pilot projects in poor communities.
