Pre-Law Studies
Introduction
Pre-Law Studies is a program taught at Covenant College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Pre-Law Studies at Covenant College is an advising track for students interested in pursuing a law degree after graduating. It is adapted to individual students based on their specific major and minors, using course and extracurricular guidance that has helped previous Covenant alumni enter and complete law school and engage in the practice of law.
Students work with pre-law advising to identify which courses beyond their chosen major or minor will build preparation for law school and legal practice.
As students move into their junior and senior years, advising includes guidance on how to prepare for the LSAT and how to select a law school program, alongside recommended courses such as Advanced English Composition, Intro to Logic, and Business Law.
Students are also encouraged to explore internships, and they can participate in the student-led Pre-Law Society, which sponsors speakers, LSAT study groups, and visits to law school campuses and local legal offices and courts.

Admission to law school is based upon grade point average (GPA) and Law School Admission Test (LSAT) scores. The applicant’s personal statement, recommendations, and extracurricular activities are also taken into account. Although minimum requirements for LSAT scores vary, realistic expectations for consideration of admission demand a minimum score of low to mid 150s.
The LSAT can be taken during or just prior to the senior year, though it can be taken later. The test may be taken more than once, but all of an individual’s scores are reported, along with an average. Pre-law students are encouraged to obtain a copy of the LSAT and LSDAS Registration and Information Book no later than the spring semester of their junior year to prepare for taking the LSAT.
