Introduction

Sociology is a program taught at Covenant College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Sociology major at Covenant College studies everyday life through sociological frameworks that explain how society shapes people and how people shape society. Students explore concepts and theories that guide everyday life, including social norms, social class, deviance, and socialization. Courses also support self-reflection by helping students learn to see their own practices and outlooks and how groups influence their behavior and thinking.

Students take foundational courses in introductory sociology, research methods, and sociological theory. They also choose elective courses such as cultural anthropology, the family, and interpersonal communication, with options to concentrate in family studies and social work. The program includes guided capstone requirements and practicum (internship) opportunities in areas such as adoption, school counseling, law enforcement, and older adult care.
