American Sign Language
Introduction
American Sign Language is a program taught at Crafton Hills College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
American Sign Language at Crafton Hills College is a program that gives students the opportunity to communicate with, and understand the Deaf community. Many students use American Sign Language as a foundation for careers in teaching, interpreting, or community service work. The program also supports students who take ASL courses to prepare for transfer to a four-year institution with Deaf Studies and/or Interpreter Training programs.
Instruction uses small classes with hands-on activities and language immersion. Students develop vocabulary and grammatical awareness through each ASL class. The program also builds a deeper understanding of the culture and history of Deaf people.
