Introduction

Music is a program taught at Crafton Hills College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Music program at Crafton Hills College provides basic training through Classical theory, Western history, and practice and performance techniques. Students expand creativity and artistry while working on standard music notation, composing and understanding harmony, and learning performance pieces from the body of Western Classical Literature.

Students read, write, and perform standard music notation and construct a Baroque-style four-voice harmonic progression. They also analyze harmonic concepts and study historical and cultural Western musical events and people. Piano performance is part of the training, and jazz and choir ensembles perform throughout the year, with recitals each semester.

An associate of arts degree in music can lead to roles as a professional musician, conductor, concert artist, studio musician, arranger, composer, accompanist, music teacher, private instructor, or church-related music positions such as minister of music, organist, or choir director. The courses can also serve as a foundation for four-year college studies in music.
