Introduction

Philosophy is a program taught at Crafton Hills College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

Philosophy at Crafton Hills College explores major questions about knowledge and everyday life. Students study topics that include ethical behavior and politics, along with metaphysics and science. The program also focuses on questions such as the meaning of life, whether God exists, what to fear about death, and free will.

Students build skills for thinking clearly and reviewing information to identify, discuss, explain, and analyze philosophical assumptions and inconsistencies. The program also develops critical reading and argument analysis, including discerning hidden assumptions, constructing logically tight arguments, and expressing ideas clearly and precisely in speech and writing.

The program offers Philosophy as an Associate of Arts (AA) and Philosophy as an Associate of Arts for Transfer (AA-T). Earning an associate of arts in philosophy can prepare students for most career paths through transferable skills, and it also serves as a foundation for four-year college studies in philosophy and a variety of liberal arts fields.
