BA in Game Design
Introduction
BA in Game Design is a Bachelor program taught at DigiPen Institute of Technology, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The BA in Game Design at DigiPen Institute of Technology focuses on game design as intentional, informed choices that answer what makes games fun. Students learn tools, techniques, and testing for explaining the “why” behind game fun, including understanding player motivation and shaping player experience through design. Coursework also builds collaboration skills across disciplines through multidisciplinary student teams.
Learning is organized around yearly game projects where students pair with programmers, artists, and audio specialists on team-developed games. In the program, students select two game design concentrations at the junior stage, choosing from systems, narrative, level, technical, user experience (UX), or user research design. The degree uses an Unreal Engine Academic Partner arrangement that provides software licenses, subscriptions, co-marketing options, and Marketplace credits.
