Introduction

Art + Design is a Bachelor program taught at East Stroudsburg State University of Pennsylvania, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Bachelor of Arts in Art + Design develops skills in three concentrations: Design, Fine Art, and Art History. Selected courses in design, studio art, and art history build competencies for graduate school or careers in arts administration, marketing, art therapy, or education. Core courses shared across programs support upper-level work, including the opportunity to move from the BA into the BFA program within the first two years for timely graduation.

The program includes the New Mind Design Student Design Agency, where Art + Design majors can work in a design agency under the guidance of faculty mentors.

The Fine Art concentration focuses on traditional fine art techniques such as drawing, painting, clay, and traditional and new media, with a required thesis project and portfolio. The Design concentration includes graphic design, illustration, 3D modeling, rendering, 3D printing, product design, and fabrication processes, with project-based assignments and required internships. Art History develops aesthetic literacy through interdisciplinary study of cultural history.
