Introduction

Nursing is a Bachelor program taught at East Stroudsburg State University of Pennsylvania, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Nursing (B.S.) program at East Stroudsburg State University of Pennsylvania prepares students to provide nursing care across the continuum of life. Students learn nursing discipline and related skills, including head-to-toe assessment of body systems, activities of daily living such as bathing and nutrition, and medication administration through oral, sq, IM, and IV routes.

The curriculum also includes oxygen and airway management (including suctioning, ventilators, and oxygen delivery devices), positioning and range of motion, and critical and emergency care. Guided clinical practice is supported by a 14:1 student-faculty ratio, and the program is designed to maximize student learning outcomes using the expertise of both nurses and faculty.

Students take NURS 310 Introduction to Evidence-Based Practice and NURS 420 Synthesis of Nursing Practice to build research skills and collaborate with clinical agency staff. Career opportunities include leadership roles such as nurse managers, vice-presidents of healthcare systems, and nurse educators, with graduates employed at health care systems including Jefferson Lehigh Valley Health Network, St. Luke's Hospital, Geisinger Health System, and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
