Introduction

Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, ScM is a Masters program taught at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology ScM is a Master of Science program that combines public health coursework with biochemistry and molecular biology study. In the first year, students take required Public Health courses and biochemistry and molecular biology courses such as Biochemistry I: Protein Structure and Enzyme Catalysis, Biochemistry II: Major Metabolic Pathways, and Concepts of Molecular Biology. Students also complete departmental courses including Cancer Biology and Special Studies-Current Topics in BMB, plus at least five upper-level BMB courses.

After the first year, students conduct laboratory research with one of the BMB primary appointment faculty members. Students start their research in June after their first year of coursework. In the second year, students also take Thesis Research Biochemistry and Seminars in Research in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The ScM degree work culminates in writing an ScM thesis that includes a literature review and a research report.
