Introduction

MD/PhD is a PhD program taught at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (six or eight year program) options.

The MD/PhD program is offered in partnership with the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. It combines a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Students complete medical school first, then shift to full-time PhD study, and finally complete the MD after the PhD degree requirements are met.

Students complete two years of medical school before devoting themselves full-time to their PhD studies. During the MD/PhD, students must complete all BSPH requirements that apply to a stand-alone PhD program in one of the departments, and they must fulfill the same competencies through the same courses as students in regular PhD programs.
