Bachelor's in Sociology / Anthropology
Introduction
Sociology / Anthropology is a Bachelor program taught at El Centro College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Sociology / Anthropology major at Hendrix College gives students an interdisciplinary understanding of human societies, cultures, social relationships, and institutions across historical and global contexts. Students integrate sociology and anthropology perspectives to examine how people create meaning, organize communities, negotiate identity, and respond to social and cultural change. Students choose an emphasis in sociology or anthropology while building shared skills in ethnographic and quantitative research, critical analysis, and cross-cultural understanding.
All majors take foundational courses in social theory, cultural anthropology, and research methods. The program includes immersive learning through internships and hands-on learning opportunities, including a required full-time co-op for one semester in a professional setting. In the final stage, students conduct original research on people and communities of interest to them.
