PhD in Infant and Early Childhood is a PhD program taught at Fielding Institute, USA. Intake: Fall. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4–6 years) options.
The Fielding Graduate University PhD in Infant and Early Childhood Development is a doctoral program with an emphasis in mental health and neurodiversity. Students work with developmental science, reflective practice, and advanced research training, grounded in infant mental health/early relational health, reflective practice and supervision, and the Developmental, Individual Difference, Relationship-based (DIR®) model.
The program is fully online and is designed for the working professional. It prepares mid-career interprofessional leaders through an integrative relationship-based approach and a progressive doctoral curriculum that expands content knowledge through research and evidence-based practice. The research emphasis focuses on applied research in infant mental health/early relational health and/or reflective practice and early development/families.
It is designed for an interprofessional community, including clinicians, therapists, educators, healthcare providers, and policymakers, and supports study across clinical, educational, policy, and advocacy settings.
