Introduction

Doctor of Education is a PhD program taught at Florida Southern College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Doctor of Education (EdD) degree prepares individuals for positions in administration, policy development, college or university teaching, and research. The curriculum covers curriculum, assessment and accountability, professional development, research-driven decision making, and policy analysis, with research-focused learning designed to help students engage in academic conversations and contribute through research.

Courses are offered through face-to-face and online options for readiness to complete a dissertation. Students follow a cohort model, taking courses with students in their cohort to build collaborative relationships. Doctoral students are part of the larger Florida Southern campus community with access to the Roux Library, Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center, athletic events, and fine arts performances, and they participate in research marathon events that involve focused engagement with librarians, faculty, staff, and students across cohorts.
