Biochemistry (B.A. or B.S.)
Introduction
Biochemistry (B.A. or B.S.) is a Bachelor program taught at Gannon University, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 Years) options.
The Biochemistry major is offered as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry. Students study a mix of chemistry, biology, and physics to understand molecular processes in living organisms. Coursework includes topics such as Organic Chemistry, Equilibrium and Reactivity, Biophysical Chemistry, Genetics, Cellular Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physics, and Calculus. The program also builds lab skills, problem-solving, and research experience using advanced lab tools.
Students participate in research on topics like microwave chemistry and smart molecules. Delivery is on campus, with co-op/internship experience that is described as guaranteed, alongside options such as service learning or faculty-led research projects. The major includes four concentrations: Pre-Medical (MD), Pre-Physician Assistant (PA), Pre-Dental (DMD), and Pre-PharmD. It prepares students for careers in the chemical industry and for graduate studies in chemistry, biochemistry, and medicine.
