Energy Systems Engineering, B.S. is a Bachelor program taught at Humboldt State University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Energy Systems Engineering, B.S. prepares students to contribute to the planning, designing, building, and operating of energy-related systems, from large-scale electric grids to solar powered devices. The field combines elements from civil, environmental, mechanical, and electrical engineering. Students build foundations in natural sciences, humanities, math, computational science, data analysis, and engineering design.
Students take a core set of foundational courses together, then choose a major pathway in upper division and complete specialty engineering courses. The specialty courses use a project-based and interdisciplinary approach. Energy Systems students study topics such as thermodynamics, transport phenomena, building energy efficiency, renewable energy generation, electricity grids, and community energy planning. Hands-on learning includes designing solar energy systems, improving building efficiency, and programming microgrid control hardware integrated into an advanced grid simulation system.
The minimum requirements for admission in Energy Systems Engineering, B.S. at Humboldt State University for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:
