Oceanography, B.S. is a Bachelor program taught at Humboldt State University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Bachelor of Science in Oceanography at Cal Poly Humboldt provides a foundation in the physical, chemical, geological, and biological aspects of the ocean. The program examines ocean processes across physics, chemistry, geology, and biology, and it supports specialization through sub-disciplines such as Biological Oceanography, Chemical Oceanography, Geological Oceanography, and Physical Oceanography.
Oceanography includes field-based practical experience, including time aboard a 90-foot ocean-going research vessel and at Humboldt’s Marine Lab. Students can tailor the curriculum to sub-disciplines in science and may also earn a minor in other disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, and Geology.
The program is designed for students who want an ocean-focused science major with knowledge and skills for careers connected to ocean health and ocean-related issues, including rising seawater, pollutants, human impacts on marine ecosystems, and seismic activity.
