The BSN pre-licensure program prepares students for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), required to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN). Students complete study in sciences including human anatomy, physiology, biology, and chemistry, and they also study the fundamentals of professional nursing, behavioral health, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. Nursing care coursework includes adults, childbearing and childrearing family care, and aging and palliative care.

This is an on-campus program designed to be completed over 5 semesters during the fall and spring semesters, with no classes during summer semesters. The program starts new nursing cohorts each fall and spring semester. Clinical learning begins in the first semester and takes place in a variety of healthcare and community-based settings across the Twin Cities metropolitan region, using modalities that include simulation. Learning combines in-person classroom instruction, high-fidelity simulation lab experience, and supervised clinical practice in healthcare facilities.
