The computer science bachelor’s curriculum emphasizes theory and mathematics, while the master’s in CIS focuses on teamwork, presentation skills, and collaboration through technology. Students complete the Full Stack Engineering Certificate, along with either the IT and Cybersecurity certificate or the Data Science certificate, and they complete a capstone project.

Course examples include development and implementation of software and research on emerging trends in software application development. CIS 621 covers the design and development of standards-based client interfaces for web applications. CIS 626 focuses on developing web services for use by many types of web applications and includes basic server-side programming techniques. CIS 629 covers mobile application development, integration with existing systems, and testing in an emulation environment prior to deployment.

The program prepares students for computer information science careers that include project management, problem analysis, and solution, design, implementation, testing, and review.
