Bachelor's in Chemistry
Introduction
Chemistry is a Bachelor program taught at Lehigh University, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
Lehigh offers B.S. degrees in chemistry designed to build a broad background in chemistry while letting students explore multidisciplinary research problems. Students study chemistry through courses in the core and through a customizable curriculum. Integrated interactive group approaches are used in introductory chemistry through studio, in organic chemistry through workshops, and in analytical and physical chemistry through project groups in laboratories.
Research opportunities are available in materials chemistry, biological chemistry, surface chemistry, and nanoscience and technology, as well as in analytical, inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry. Research is an option selected by 70 percent of the majors in chemistry and biochemistry. Faculty in chemistry welcome undergraduates into their research groups, and students work on projects such as new diagnostic assays for HIV antigens, pharmaceuticals for rage suppression, drug delivery by novel liposomes, new catalysts for synthesis of fuels, and smart surfaces.
