Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering
Introduction
Electrical Engineering is a Bachelor program taught at Lehigh University, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
The Electrical Engineering degree at Lehigh University prepares students with multidisciplinary training and analytical thinking for work in circuit design, electronic and optical components, sensors, biomedical devices, and systems such as microelectronic, control, information, computer, and communication systems. Students build electrical engineering fundamentals and creative problem-solving skills that they can apply to emerging technologies and their uses.
Students in the program work on research projects with professors and engineering professionals. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, and students work alongside faculty who lead research areas including nanotechnology, optoelectronics, fiber optics, flexible displays, microelectronics fabrication, bioengineering, information and communications technology, wireless networking, signal processing, and image compression. The Electrical Engineering minor also uses core courses plus electives with hands-on labs and collaborative projects.
Graduates are described as innovators who design operating room equipment; control airplanes, missiles, and satellites; create faster ways for computers and people to communicate; improve vehicle speed and safety; and develop and control renewable sources of energy. They also develop biomedical instrumentation and sensor networks that protect the environment. The program’s preparation is described as supporting careers in technology-related fields and also medicine, finance, law, and government.
