Introduction

Infant and Toddler Studies is a program taught at Los Angeles Southwest College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

Infant and Toddler Studies at Los Angeles Southwest College leads to an Infant & Toddler Studies Skills Certificate focused entirely on young children. You study infant and toddler behavior, including how to observe and record behavior in small children, and how young children develop from birth to age eight in relation to growth and development.

The certificate is built around required courses in child growth and development, child and family community, Infant and Toddler Studies I and II, and observing and recording children’s behavior. You also select one Growing Brain course, either The Growing Brain I: From Birth to Five Years Old or The Growing Brain II: From Birth to Five Years Old. This prepares you for work caring for children under 5.
