Information Assurance (Certificate)

Information Assurance (Certificate) is a Diploma program taught at Louisiana Tech University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Information Assurance (Certificate) is a graduate certificate designed for professionals seeking to advance their careers in information security, cybersecurity, digital forensics, and risk management. Students build advanced technical and managerial expertise through experiential, hands-on courses, focusing on detecting, reporting, and resolving cyber threats; encrypting data and securing digital communications; and performing forensic investigations across networks, systems, and code.

The curriculum also covers risk assessments and mitigation strategy design, plus disaster recovery and business continuity planning. It addresses managerial, legal, and policy challenges in cybersecurity and helps graduates understand interdisciplinary frameworks and models of information assurance. Students analyze technical, legal, and organizational issues affecting security operations and apply forensic methods, continuity strategies, incident response plans, and practical risk mitigation plans.

The certificate can be taken as a standalone program, and it can also be taken in conjunction with Louisiana Tech’s MBA program as the core of an Information Assurance concentration. It is housed in the College of Business and is NSA-certified, including a CAE-CDE (Cyber Defense Education) designation for cybersecurity education.
