Bachelor's in Graphic Design
Introduction
Graphic Design is a Bachelor program taught at Meredith College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
The Graphic Design MAJOR at Meredith College prepares you to solve consumer-centered communication problems and to understand collaboration between client, designer, and audience. You study how to design effective logos, posters, magazines, websites, brochures, book jackets, product packaging, and advertising campaigns. The program combines traditional art concepts with computer design and typography skills.
Learning combines classroom skills with real-world projects through internships in professional settings. You also work with Meredith’s Circus Design Studio, an in-house studio where students assess community needs and design and implement print and interactive collateral for events, services, and programs. Meredith’s Frankie G. Weems Art Gallery supports learning through exhibitions that feature various artists, media, and subject matter.
The degree prepares you for work as professional designers, art directors, freelancers, and creative directors, with specializations that include logo and identity design, print design, web/interactive design, illustration, and advertising. Meredith also offers scholarships exclusive to graphic design majors, and it has articulation agreements with the North Carolina Community College System for students who complete an Associate of Fine Arts degree.
