The Health, Exercise, and Sport Sciences degree at Meredith College is a Bachelor of Science that studies human movement, performance, and function. The program integrates kinesiology, physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, psychology, health education, and sport management, drawing on anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, neuroscience, and psychology to explain how the body moves and how physical activity affects health, fitness, sports performance, and well-being. Students can choose a concentration in Health and Wellness or Health and Physical Education.
Learning is hands-on through laboratory experiences, fieldwork, internships, and service-learning. Students complete required core courses and concentration courses, with options for the Health and Wellness concentration and the Health and Physical Education concentration. The degree includes access to the Health and Human Performance Lab and opportunities such as Human Performance Lab fitness testing, an Employee Wellness Program, and work at the Lowery Fitness Center.
