Introduction
History is a Bachelor program taught at Meredith College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
The History major at Meredith College focuses on learning the importance of the past to build knowledge and understanding of today’s world. Students study history in ways that develop skills for careers in law, government, education, and historical or cultural institutions. The program prepares students to compete in the global marketplace.
Students engage in mock interviews, networking events, career panels, and resume workshops with support from the Office of Career Planning. Through internships, students gain professional experience with organizations such as the North Carolina Museum of History and the Duke Homestead Historic Site. Meredith also offers a pairing with its teaching licensure program for social studies concentrations, and a pairing with its accelerated law degree program to complete senior undergraduate study and first-year law school simultaneously.
The major prepares graduates for law or graduate school. Students can also join organizations including Model UN, the History and Politics Club, and the Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society. Meredith provides scholarships exclusively for history students, including the Sarah Lemmon Award and the Alice B. Keith Scholarship.
Admission Requirements
The minimum requirements for admission in History at Meredith College for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:
