Introduction

Educational Technology is a program taught at Merritt College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Educational Technology program at Merritt College helps students build competencies for online teaching and learning. Students develop skills in evidence-based practices, current educational technology adoption and development, and course facilitation techniques using a learning management system (LMS). The program also emphasizes student-centered design informed by Universal Design for Learning, the California Virtual Campus – Online Education Initiative (CVC-OEI) Rubric, and the Peralta Community College District Online Equity Rubric.

Graduates work toward creating an online or hybrid course that follows distance education and course design best practices within the California Community College system. Students also learn how to develop and/or integrate educational technologies into online and hybrid courses.
