Prototype Design
Introduction
Prototype Design is a program taught at Metropolitan Community College (NE), USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Prototype Design is an Associate in Applied Science degree program that is multidisciplinary and focuses on productivity, collaboration, and innovative technology skills across industries. Students work through a pathway of eleven courses, including Robotics, SolidWorks, Internet of Things, and Rapid Prototyping with 3D printers, with emphasis on computer literacy, work readiness, and prototyping skills.
Learning is hands-on and project-based, using fabrication technology. Students often work side-by-side with industry and MCC’s Corporate Partners to receive and complete course assignments. The program also includes an opportunity to fast-path and accelerate through the degree. Students use the Prototype Design Lab, which is equipped with tools, equipment, machines, programs, and materials for prototyping.
