Studio Art
Introduction
Studio Art is a program taught at Metropolitan Community College (NE), USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Art program (ARTAA) at Metropolitan Community College is designed for students with previous art experience and for students beginning to explore artistic interests and careers in the arts. Foundation level art classes introduce basic concepts of art and design and provide studio time to develop and refine traditional and conceptual art skills.
The program combines traditional media for creating two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces. It includes drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, and jewelry, and it encourages exploration of the computer as a contemporary art tool.
The Associate in Arts degree (Art, ARTAA) is primarily designed for students who want to transfer to a B.A. or B.F.A. degree in a four-year college or university. It also prepares students to enter a four-year Fine Arts program, including the UNO College of Fine Arts and UNL School of Art.
