Art Major, B.F.A.

Art Major, B.F.A. is a Bachelor program taught at Metropolitan State College of Denver, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Bachelor of Arts in Art is a liberal arts degree that gives students a broad background in visual art. Students select a minor that complements their studies in Art. The program starts with the same foundation courses common to all students in the Department of Art, which build principal skills for upper-division coursework. Students then take beginning and intermediate coursework in a variety of media or follow a sequence in one medium, with flexibility across options.

Students are encouraged to take Integrated Media courses that use interdisciplinary approaches for collaboration and innovative problem-solving. As an intermediate student, students complete ARTH 2600 Reading and Writing Visual Culture. Students finish with a Senior Capstone course, ART 4710 Art Senior Experience, which synthesizes learning through activities that may include exhibition reviews, proposals for curatorial projects, and research projects.
