Introduction

Early Childhood Education Major, B.A. is a Bachelor program taught at Metropolitan State College of Denver, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Early Childhood Education major (B.A.) prepares you to care for, teach, and work with children from birth through age eight. You study child development, language and literacy, science, technology, creativity, math, trauma-informed teaching, and equity-focused teaching.

You take courses with faculty who are active on federal, national, state, and local boards and agencies, and who share research, policy, and practice with districts and centers. The program uses small class sizes, and it includes clinical experiences with partner schools across the Denver metro area throughout your program.

On graduation, you choose one of two concentrations: one that leads to recommendation for Colorado Department of Education Teacher Licensure for birth through age 8, or one that leads to an Early Learning Specialization. Graduates complete Early Childhood Teacher and related requirements, and you receive an MSU Denver certificate of completion in Trauma-Informed and Equity Practices.
