Diploma in Diesel Equipment Technology
Introduction
Diesel Equipment Technology is a Diploma program taught at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years) options.
Diesel Equipment Technology at Minnesota State Community and Technical College is an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Diploma program focused on maintaining diesel-powered equipment. Students work on diesel engines, clutches and transmissions, air-conditioning systems, electrical systems, and other components. Coursework is reviewed by regional industry leaders.
Instruction takes place in a modern on-site lab. About two-thirds of instruction time is spent in the diesel lab working on live work and training models. Students learn to diagnose problems and disassemble, recondition, and replace faulty parts. The associate degree program offers a general track, a truck-focused track, and a sponsored track with supervised work experience with Case New Holland.
For the AAS, needed tools are supplied to all second-year students on campus. The associate degree program and the diploma program are certified by the Association Equipment Distributors Foundation. The AAS option also supports transfer to a four-year college or university for an advanced degree.
