Bachelor's in Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity is a Bachelor program taught at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Cybersecurity program at Minnesota State Community and Technical College focuses on IT security and networking. You learn to protect data and networks from cyber threats by performing penetration testing, assessing security risks, and implementing security measures. The AAS program targets foundational skills to support and maintain IT systems, while the Certificate adds technical skills in IT security.

Coursework covers routing and switching, server virtualization, and private cloud computing environments. You study risk, threats, vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and exploits, and you analyze known security incidents. You write and apply policies and security framework controls and countermeasures to decrease risk, with some courses using hands-on lab activities in the Tech Turf virtual lab environment.

The program prepares you for the CompTIA Security+ and Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) certification exams. The Certificate program also supports skills to manage and secure a Linux operating system, develop and query an information database, and create simple scripts.

The minimum requirements for admission in Cybersecurity at Minnesota State Community and Technical College for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Minnesota State Community and Technical College.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Minnesota State Community and Technical College as pre-requiste for admission in Cybersecurity.
