Health Professions

Health Professions is a program taught at Missouri State University-West Plains, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Associate of Arts in Health Professions is a transfer-focused degree designed for students who plan to move to a four-year program in health-related fields. It combines an introduction to the health sciences with a liberal arts education. The curriculum includes pathway-focused electives in science, human health, and communication-relevant skills.

Students study the scientific and humanistic sides of patient care. The program also builds communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and a foundation in ethics and professionalism. The degree supports transfer to professional programs in fields such as nursing, exercise and movement science, and medical laboratory sciences, along with other health disciplines.

Multiple pathway options are available within the Health Professions degree. These include pre-nursing, pre-medicine, pre-pharmacy, and pre-physical therapist, among others. Students are encouraged to talk with a Health Professions Advisor about opportunities.
