Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education (BAECE)
Introduction
The Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education (BAECE) at National University prepares students for work with young learners. The program uses a conceptual framework that includes current theory, contemporary perspectives, and research findings. Students build knowledge and skills in designing learning environments, individual and adaptive curricula, and instructional strategies, with focus on social and emotional development alongside academic learning for children under age eight.
Students must complete field experience in an approved setting, working with children from Birth to Age 5 in a general education, inclusive setting. Agencies and schools collaborating with the Sanford College of Education may require a background check and TB clearance prior to facility acceptance, and students without a Certificate of Clearance cannot attend the field experience component. Proof of current DTAP, MMR, and Flu vaccinations may be required for fieldwork per SB792.
