Introduction

The Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) at National University is an online, practice-based doctoral program built around competencies for interprofessional education. Students study how to navigate legal and ethical issues in healthcare, understand the impact of policy, and develop evidence-based strategies for applied healthcare administration. The program prepares students for mid-career and senior executive-level positions in the private and public healthcare sectors, with an emphasis on leading and effecting change in complex and diverse healthcare organizations.

The DHA is offered completely online, with weekly start dates and year-round enrollment. Students complete a minimum of 60 graduate-level credit hours beyond the master’s degree, including at least 48 credit hours of graduate instruction completed through the University.

Graduation includes a required GPA of 3.0, approval of a dissertation project, and successful completion of the dissertation defense, followed by submission of the approved project to the University Registrar. Students also need access to a computer or laptop with a webcam, microphone, and high-speed internet.
