Introduction

The Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology (PhD-PSY) prepares students for doctoral-level study in psychology. Students explore psychological theories, develop research skills, and practice those skills through dissertation research. The program includes work on academic communities, professional standards, critical thinking, comprehension of complex scholarly texts and research articles, and effective written communications.

The PhD-PSY is 100% online with weekly course starts. Average completion time is 46 months. Each course runs 8 weeks, except research, dissertation, and internship courses which run 12 weeks. Students complete 60 credits and 20 courses, with dissertation and other research requirements supported by required prospectus work, dissertation manuscript approval, and dissertation defense.
