Tribal Business Management

Tribal Business Management is a program taught at Nicolet Area Technical College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

Tribal Business Management is a Technical Certificate that develops skills for people who work or plan to work in a tribal organization or a Native American business environment. Students study fundamental management skills and how a Native nation’s historical, legal, political, and cultural context affects an organization’s work. Courses cover culturally relevant business and management topics, leadership, human resource development, sustainable resource building, entrepreneurship, and program planning.

Learning is delivered on campus and through hybrid/blended options, with optional lab support. The program includes Term 1 courses: Business Essentials, Fundamentals of Tribal Management, Advanced Tribal Management, and Tribal Supervisory Management. Students also build skills related to governance and administration of contemporary Native Nations, including legislative, executive, and judicial structures, plus supervision strategies such as federal Indian law, business ethics, strategic planning, job analysis, and employee performance evaluation.

Graduates may work as a First Line Supervisor/Manager, Administrative Services Manager, or Program Manager. The program’s outcomes include understanding the relationship between a Native nation’s legal, political, and cultural context and the workplace, and the ability to lead, motivate, supervise, and manage personnel and non-personnel resources.

The minimum requirements for admission in Tribal Business Management at Nicolet Area Technical College for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Nicolet Area Technical College.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Nicolet Area Technical College as pre-requiste for admission in Tribal Business Management.
